Orlando Amador, Yours Truly, Rafael Villanueva, Gregorio Billikopf
We decided to get lunch together on the way home. Here I am with a group of Latino men and where do they want to eat? At a Chinese buffett. We arrived at one of Bro. Billikopf's favorite places and found it closed. What was Plan B? A Mexican restaurant on the other side of the parking lot. Most of you wouldn't think that was weird but I was a little surprised. Not one of us in the group is Mexican. Bro. Amador is Nicaraguan, Bro. Villanueva is Honduran and Bro. Billikopf is Chilean. The food was quite good though, so much so that that's where I stopped two weeks later.
This last Saturday Bro. José García went through the temple for the first time and I accompanied him. We ended up taking a couple more friends from Church and had a nice car ride over to Oakland and back. Bro. García had a rather profound spiritual experience while in the celestial room of the temple. He asked me, Do you think it's possible to always feel this peaceful and calm? He pointed out to me how the celestial room was the exact opposite of a prison yard: the celestial room was orderly, clean, quiet, people were pleasant and smiling. A prison yard is loud, dirty and people there are mean. I thought it was an interesting observation.
